Ballroom Tango is one of the most exciting of the ballroom dances that we teach. Both the American Style and International Style are intense and dramatic dances. Tango has a stalking type of walk that is different from all of the other ballroom dances. Many dancers enjoy the American Style because dancers can separate from the closed position for various open patterns where the couple dances apart before joining their partner again for a closed position. Both styles of Tango are social and competitive dances.
Ballroom and latin dance schools like Dancemasters Studio in Dallas teach many different types of Latin dances like Salsa. Salsa is an exciting international dance that began in Cuba in the 1930s. Even if you have never danced before, our instructors are ready to teach you the basic steps that will help you learn Latin dances. There are two types of Salsa that are popular in the U.S. These are the New York style that breaks on the second beat and the Los Angeles style that breaks on the first beat.
An additional popular Latin dance is the Mambo, which is a combination of Swing and Cuban music. You’ll enjoy the music and learning how to dance with the beats when you learn this sensational dance. There is plenty of opportunity for exercise with the Mambo because it requires cuban hip movements, kicks, spins, side steps, rocks, and backward and forward movements.
Another exciting Latin dance is the Samba, a dance that began in Brazil. Even today, it is a symbol of the Brazilian Carnival and of the Brazilian culture. When you take lessons with us, you will be able to amaze your friends the next time you are out dancing. They won’t believe it when you break out into this lively dance. The Samba is part of the American Rhythm and International ballroom styles.
Whether you are interested in perfecting your dance moves or learning new dances, our instructors are here ready to help you. They can also get you started dancing by teaching you beginning steps. After taking lessons for a while, you’ll soon be doing the Salsa, Mambo, and other more complicated dances.
